Product Detail
This collection draws inspiration from the Himmapan forest, from the mystical forests found in literature, and the cosmological beliefs inherent to Buddhism and Hinduism. The Himmapan forest is abundant in a diverse range of woodlands, home to various mythical creatures. Many of these creatures can be described as "combined animals," a blend of various animals from the imagination of ancient Thai artists who crafted images from various old documents. These creatures are known under the collective name of "Himmapan creatures," merging narratives with Western-style landscape illustrations.
This collection showcases contemporary art forms that blend lines and colors in the style of Toile de Jouy, a technique for printing single-color patterns on fabric. Initially focused on depicting natural landscapes and various locations, it gained popularity throughout Europe in the 18th century and is now housed in renowned French museums.
